on sunday july 24th my mom turned 60! we wanted to do something special for her to mark the occasion, so we held an old fashion summertime barbecue in my sisters backyard. it was a perfect day in every way. almost everyone we invited showed up to share in the festivities... over 60 people! she is very loved and it was very apparent that day.
mom confessed that she was overwhelmed by all of the fuss over her, but i know that she loved it too! what else can someone ask for, than to love and be loved by so many wonderful people.
she was especially happy to see two of her best friends from public school... growing up, karen and barb lived just down the road from mom in foxboro... oh the good ole days in foxboro...
she was surrounded by her brother and sister and nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews... boy she is getting old...lol!
and thank you to cathy for making the delicious birthday cake... which was divided into 3 parts... her famous carrot cake with cream cheese filling, vanilla cake with lemon filling and chocolate cake with fudge filling.... so, so yummy!
and now to leave off with something so, so funny.... good ole uncle chris.... he's all class that fella...lol!
